Senior COBOL Developer

Outokumpu Stainless Oy, located in Tornio and Helsinki, is seeking a Senior COBOL Developer for their full-time position in Oulu. This role requires expertise in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-availability transaction processing systems on HP NonStop platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, infrastructure teams, and support organizations to ensure stable operations. Key responsibilities include analyzing business requirements, managing the application lifecycle, troubleshooting production issues, optimizing performance, and mentoring junior developers. This position offers a competitive hourly wage based on Finnish collective agreements and opportunities for professional development.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience.
• Several years of COBOL development experience.
• Hands-on experience with HP NonStop is seen as plus.
• Strong analytical, Technical Leadership, Critical Thinking and high troubleshooting skills.
• Proficient knowledge of other programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, C#, Python or .NET is a plus.
• Familiarity with MES and related systems.

Responsibilities
